Additional Information

In 1997, I received certification as a “Master Teaching Artist” by the state agency, The Connecticut Office of the Arts.

My professional affiliations include; Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts; National Association for Music Education;
Remo Incorporated; Audix U.S.A.

I teach lessons titled, “Introduction To African Drumming”. The experiential format conveys skills to play musically and comfortably on djembe drums, shakers, and bells.

For over 18 years, I served as a Faculty Assistant to the late Dr. Babatunde Olatunji for his “Language of the Drums” courses at The Omega Institute. I performed as a drummer and singer as a member of Olatunji’s African music and dance company, “Drums of Passion” in concerts at venues including: Lincoln Center; Metropolitan Museum of Art; Jorgenson Center for the Performing Arts; Washington Monument.
