Request for Fun With Drums Proposals

Calling Today’s Drummers: Apply Today!

Are you a professional percussionist and a teaching artist with a passion for presenting community-based educational workshops? Apply today to contribute your expertise by video to be included with the Percussion Marketing Council’s Fun with Drums initiative.

Fun with Drums is a series of informative, educational, instructional 10-minute videos available for music teachers, parents, and general classroom educators to supplement curricular activities at home or in the classroom. We are expanding this video collection even as live, hands-on percussion instruction returns in schools, libraries, and recreation centers. After a year of virtual learning, we are eager to gather together again. But we all know online learning is also here to stay. Join us! Fun with Drums is expanding!

We are seeking energetic, upbeat percussionists working professionally in the performing arts and educational realms who are bursting with new ideas to inspire new generations of players, and willing to produce videos of themselves that encourage students to engage with and grow to play any and all percussive instruments. Whether you’re passionate about Taiko, the djembe or the cajon; are especially skilled in the pillars of jazz rhythm; know lots you want to share about transferring skills from drumset to electronic drum kit ; or have tips on how to read and write percussion notation, we want to hear from you. All ideas considered!

We seek quality supplemental instruction videos for learners of all ages – preschool, elementary, middle and high school, even for adults interested in lifelong learning. Your video/s can be all inclusive, or specifically targeted to an age or grade level.

A Facilitator Fee & Production Cost Honorarium of $800 will be paid to you directly for each video approved and used by the PMC, upon our receipt of the final video with Lesson Plan, for immediate use and implementation into the Fun with Drums series. Please include an invoice as a PDF along with each pre-approved video you submit. Include the mail-to address for this payment in your invoice.

Videos and lesson plans will be made available at the Fun with Drums tab at www.playdrums.com and can be included in your own website and social media outlets to expand the public’s awareness, use and application.  While these videos are copyrighted exclusively for the PMC, they can be used and shared with as many different audience outlets as possible. Get creative!
