PMC Promotes FREE Online Lessons with a Celebrity Drummers or at a Local Retailer
April 7, 2020 – Stay home, keep playing! With schools and sporting activities being cancelled and “stay-at-home” orders in place across the country, more people are filling time with new activities such as learning to play a musical instrument. The Percussion Marketing Council has two great promotions to help you get drumming!
Just in time for May’s International Drum Month in May, PlayDrums.com, the PMC’s official website, is offering a chance to win an hour-long “Lesson with a Master.” Eight Grand Prize winners will be chosen to receive a private online lesson with an internationally recognized celebrity drummer. Take your drumming to the next level with one of these artists: Gorden Campbell, Rick Latham, Rich Redmond, and David Stanoch. The program is open to all U.S. residents 10 years of age or older who have been playing drums for more than a year.
“As part of the PMC’s 25th Anniversary year, we wanted to create an educational opportunity for drummers to learn from and experience a one-hour private online lesson with some of the industry’s most respected players,” states Stacey Montgomery-Clark, PMC Co-Executive Director. “We are extremely lucky to have these phenomenal artists step forward to participate in this very special 2020 International Drum Month campaign.”
Register to win a one-hour video-conference lesson with one of four artists by visiting: PlayDrums.com/lesson-with-a-master. The Lesson with a Master entry period runs from April 15 to May 30, 2020.
“In light of many COVID-19 precautions nationwide, drumming is a great way to relieve anxiety and stress. Now more than ever, we want to help connect drummers with quality music retailers that offer both in-store or online private drum lessons. Online teaching technology can be used for live lessons. Even with a simple video chat, the audio quality is good enough, and you can hear what someone is playing on an instrument. It’s not too different to a face-to-face lesson,” PMC Co-Executive Director David Jewell further explains.
As part of the PMC’s year-long 25th Anniversary celebration, the PMC will help you “Get Your Sticks Together” by offering free drum lessons through your local percussion retailer/music store (due to social distancing restrictions, some retailer stores may be offering online lessons). Each month a randomly selected winner will receive 12 FREE drum lessons at their chosen local drum shop or music store – paid for by the PMC. The total free lesson value for the student-winner is $360 for the 12 consecutive half-hour drum lessons.
